An award-winning master of chainsaw art is Estonian artist Igor Loskutow. He is part of the Husqvarna chainsaw sculpture team based in Germany, traveling to events across Europe to demonstrate their cutting skills. One of the latest pieces by Luskutow, an incredible dragon bench, is an art form masterpiece.
Seeing how the bench takes shape is incredible, with the long body of the fantastic animal forming the seat and curling its head and tail around either side. The wings are particularly impressive as one wraps around in a dramatic fashion as the back rest and the other curves around the sides. The newest creation of Loskutow is now at home next to a a a butcher shop, but this is not his first time seating a dragon.
He created another dragon bench at the beginning of 2017, this one with the head carved from a red tinged wood. The fiery red head offsets the rest of the mocha colored bench beautifully and continues to show off the cutting skills of the chainsaw artist. The benches only further prove why Luskutow won the 2015 Huskycup World Title for his work, from incredibly thin, soft lines to larger cuts used to create the overall shape.
These behind the scenes images help us understand how the master carver uses the chainsaw to create a dragon bench.
The Estonian artist also carved another marvelous dragon bench, using contrasting woods to great effect.
